Do you remember the first time after you got your driver's license that your dad looked at you and threw the keys to his car into your outstretched hands and said, "Go ahead and take it for a spin...by yourself."

greg-stier-40.jpgI remember hearing the story of the famous evangelist D.L. Moody at a revival. The man who was closing the service in prayer was going on and on, showing off his supplication skills in front of the large crowd. After several minutes of waxing eloquent D.L. Moody approached the pulpit where the wordy-would-be prayer warrior was flexing his prayerful prowess. Putting his arm around the unsuspecting man D.L. Moody spoke loudly over him, "While our dear brother finishes his prayer, let's close in a hymn!" With that Moody led the crowd in a rousing closing chorus.

greg-stier-40.jpgAs I read through Bible I am always secretly impressed at how often and in how many ways the kingdom of God is mentioned or eluded to in some way. I get the sense as I read about it over and over throughout the pages of God's Word that I and others tend to underestimate it. To be honest I don't talk about it enough. And it feels as though those who do talk about it often refer only to one aspect of the kingdom and miss out on the rest.
greg-stier-40.jpgThe web can be a hissing snake of temptation trying to get us, not only to bite the apple, but to keep chomping on it all day and night. It can be used by the underworld to undermine our ministry effectiveness and, no, I'm not talking about porn. I'm referring to the underestimated underbelly of the internet known as neverending web surfing and social networking...in other words: wasting massive amounts of time on the web.

greg-stier-40.jpgRecently a non-Christian student went undercover on Liberty University mission trip to Daytona Beach, Fla., to minister to those who were partying on spring break. A subsequent article provides incredible insight into the mind of an unbeliever and proposes questions about the success of this kind of evangelism methodology. Below is Greg Stier's response.

My buddy Jonathan McKee forwarded me a very interesting article he found on www.Salon.com written by a non-Christian college student named Kevin who transferred to Liberty University. He was an undercover unbeliever with the goal of understanding how Christians think and getting a sense of the evangelical culture from an "inside" perspective.

greg-stier-40.jpgI am doing two youth leader trainings (Monday and Tuesday) in Atlanta at the ESPN Zone. I love this particular training. It's called "How to turn your youth group into a reality series!"

During this youth leader focused equipping session I train youth leaders how to unleash the power of discussion in the context of youth ministry to dive deep into key questions of theology, morality and life. Why is this vital?
