joyce-meyer.jpegBut we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Do you get mad every time somebody tries to correct you, or tell you what to do, because you always have to be right? If you answered yes, I am sure that you are not a happy person. You cannot change others, but you can allow God to change you so that things don't bother you anymore.
thelma-wells.jpgThe other day I was recounting the seasons of my life and discovered that every 12 years my business life is reinvented.  With each season, I've learned some life lessons that have shaped my outlook and my attitude.  And, with each reinvention, I've understood that I've come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord, trusting in His Holy Word.  He's never failed me.  As I have graduated from season to season, I've walked in a lot of different shoes, stepped in many cracks of life, and broken some heels in life a few times trying to get where I was going.
suzanne-eller.jpg"Peter said to Jesus, 'If it is You, Lord, tell me to come to You on the water.' Jesus said, 'Come!' Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water to Jesus.'" Matthew 14:28-29 (New Life Bible)

A long time ago I took a risk with God. Opening my heart to Him meant that I would be vulnerable. I had learned that if I stepped outside my carefully constructed walls, I could be hurt.

Perfect Peace, by Nancy Leigh DeMoss

nancy-leigh-demoss.jpgIf there ever was a woman who had it rough, it was Hannah Whitall Smith. This author from the late 1800s was married to a preacher who proved to be emotionally unstable and was repeatedly unfaithful. Two of her five children died of scarlet fever. One daughter left a husband and ran off with an artist. Another daughter married an outspoken atheist. Hannah herself suffered from crippling arthritis.

bev-murrill.jpgConfrontation--always difficult, often necessary. And something that many of us do badly or not at all. We tend to default toward one of two paths; either we run from it or we find ourselves continually confronting everything: fight or flight. It doesn't take too long to realize that both of these methods are more often than not ineffective.
