President-elect Barack Obama is ready to make a play for Tony Dungy. Indiana Senator Evan Bayh said he wants to recruit the recently retired Colts coach to work on a national program to promote responsible fatherhood.
Bayh mentioned the idea to Obama, who gave him a thumbs-up to bring Dungy into the fold.

"He enthusiastically agreed, saying 'I love that guy,' " Bayh said of his talk with Obama.

Dungy, who announced his departure from the Colts on Monday, said he plans to work with at-risk young people in his life after football.

But he also has an eye on Obama, and said he and his wife plan to attend the future president's inauguration on Tuesday.

"Lauren and I are going and it's going to be a wonderful moment," Dungy said. "To be honest, I was hoping I wouldn't be able to go because we'd be preparing for another Super Bowl."
