Over the past two months, I have waded into the national debate regarding gay marriage by writing two widely distributed editorials. These op-eds largely addressed the false comparison between African-American oppression and the push for gay rights. I am neither a member of a pro-family organization nor an official advocate for traditional marriage. I am a Christian, an Independent voter and private citizen who felt compelled to speak out in support of the African-American legacy and the traditional, nuclear family. But my experience over the past two months may be instructive for other Christians, the church in general and the Black church specifically as the fight to protect the next generation of children wages on.

Barack Commits His First "Obamination"

| | Comments (11) | TrackBacks (0)
robinson-andrew.jpg"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." (Leviticus 18:22)

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." (Leviticus 20:13)

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." (Romans 1:26-27)

It seems as though everybody is afraid to say something about this, but I am going to say something about it. Barack just committed his first "obamination" by calling up Gene Robinson, the most prominent, "civil-unioned," homosexual man in America, who claims to be a bishop, to pray at the Inaugural Service at the Lincoln Memorial.
earl-graves-sr-780.jpgEarl G. Graves Sr., founder and publisher of Black Enterprise magazine, issues the following statement concerning the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States of America:

earl-ofari-hutchinson-2.jpgPresident-elect Barack Obama almost certainly knew that he'd take some heavy flack from gay rights and abortion rights groups for picking mega preacher Rick Warren to give his inaugural invocation. Warren backed the anti gay marriage Prop 8 in California to the hilt and rails against abortion.

earl-ofari-hutchinson-2.jpgTop Obama economic advisor Lawrence Summer is the consummate Wall Street, and yes another Clinton insider. His resume reads like a mini telephone book on the list of posts he's held in and out of every financial and government monetary agency imaginable.

Dear Daughters & YBW:

I trust that you are doing well today. I hope that you are growing in the Lord and living a victorious life. Today, I want to write to you about domestic violence and how you can avoid it.
joseph-c-phillips2.jpgIf, as the essayist wrote, 'irony gives birth to a deeper and less friendly understanding', then here is a real interesting development for you. In the days following the election of Barack Obama as our nation's 44th president, my email in box was filled with notes proclaiming "another bold step for black mankind" and asking for my reaction.
